What happened to TUM?

This is the same group formerly known as Tucson Ukulele Meetup / TUM — except now we go by Tucson Ukulele Uprising (also known as TUKU)! We still meet weekly to play music together. Complete Meetup details will eventually be posted on this website, but in the meantime (and for the foreseeable future) they will also continue to be posted on the Meetup site.

Covid precautions?

To keep our members safe, we ask that folks meeting up with us be fully vaccinated.

What if I don’t really know how to play ukulele?

That’s ok! That’s pretty much where we all started. Even if you only know one chord, we’re happy to have you join us. Heck, even if you don’t know any chords! You’ll be sort of playing in no time!

What if I don’t own an ukulele?

You are still welcome to check us out, though eventually you will want an ukulele. Ukuleles can be procured at several local establishments. Visit our Tips & Resources page for more info.

What kind of music do you play?

Unlike many ukulele groups, we have a very eclectic song list. Pop, bluegrass, county, gospel, rock, soul — you name it, we play it all.

Can I suggest a song?

Yes! Feel free to get in touch with one of our organizers or drop us a note here. If you can share a pdf of said song, so much the better!

What are the benefits of being a dues-paying member?

Support this amazing local organization! Perhaps you’ll even get a snazzy button — stay posted!
